This project started with a modest kitchen and with the help of a small addition, turned it into a space that checked all the boxes; an island with 5 stools, large window at the kitchen sink, wide traffic pathways for an active family, a brick barrel-vault ceiling that reminded the client of her childhood, and a space for everything. Taking chances with blue cabinets and bold lighting fixtures created visual interest but maintained sophistication.
This complete kitchen remodel utilized opulent materials and high end finishes to achieve a traditional look, while still maintaining a clean aesthetic. Brushed Opus White Quartzite was used for the expansive countertops. A deep sapphire blue paint color injects drama into the space and provides a dose of contrast against the otherwise white elements. Brushed brass hardware, plumbing, and lighting fixtures combine to create a soft opulence. The custom cabinetry was designed with both design aesthetics and functionality in mind. Their layout maximizes the storage in the kitchen space and allows the homeowner to have easy access to necessities while cooking or entertaining. A unique brick barrel ceiling gives the space old world charm and hugs the sophisticated room with welcome warmth. An extra-large window, with a shape designed to mirror the brick barrel-vault ceiling, commands the closed end of the kitchen while existing refinished hardwood floors finish the space.
