This project nestled into the trees of Tomlinson Woods turned a tired home into a designer's showpiece. The project was co-designed by McNeil Company and jh Interior Design Studio. A small addition to "square-up" an indented corner of the home allowed for a larger kitchen and entertaining space, a dedicated dining space and a floor plan that is perfect for entertaining. A unique space hidden behind kitchen cabinets holds a spacious walk-in pantry and a planning desk center to organize the household in front of a large window overlooking a treed landscape. Opening the centrally located stairwell to the lower level connected the spaces which were an important aspect for their young family. Although the floor plan was "opened up," architectural detailings defined the spaces and maintained the aesthetic of the original construction while adjusting to modern living.
